How we handle your photos.

What metadata is

Most photos carry hidden data alongside the image itself: exactly where it was taken (GPS), what device took it, when, what software last edited it, and sometimes an embedded thumbnail or comment. None of this is visible when you just look at the photo - but anyone who downloads the original file can read it.

What we do with an uploaded photo

We read the photo's metadata, remove it, verify it's gone, and store the result briefly so you can download it. We do not analyze, view, or make any use of the image content itself beyond what's needed to strip its metadata and confirm the removal worked.

What we retain, and for how long

Free uploads are deleted automatically a short time after processing (currently 45 minutes) - whether or not you download the clean copy. Paid plans can configure a longer retention window. We do not keep GPS coordinates, device identifiers, or any other sensitive metadata values in our own records - only the names of the fields we removed (e.g. "GPS location"), so we can show you what was found, never the values themselves.

Logging

We keep basic operational logs (timestamps, job status, file size) to run the service and diagnose problems. These logs do not contain image content or metadata values.

Deletion

Once a job's retention window passes, the original upload and the cleaned copy are both permanently deleted from our servers by an automatic background process - not something you need to request.
